It is apparently very unusual for someone as young as you were to become addicted to gambling. But, you always talked of things in terms of money and seemed to want it all 'yesterday'. I guess that having a reasonably big win soon after you began working at the Gazette was what set you on the path to destruction. You probably saw it as a 'quick fix' and would have got sucked in before your subconscious even had time to say, "Don't do it!!!"
